Mallorca Airport official name is “Palma de Mallorca”. It holds IATA Code as PMI is located only 8 km from Palma, Majorca that is along the village named Can Pastilla. People also call this airport as “Son Sant Joan Airport” or the Spanish name as “Aeroport de Son Sant Joan”. This is ranked as the 3rd largest airport throughout Spain and in summers it gets more and more busy in handling tourists. More than 23 million travellers used this airport in 2014. Spanish airliner Air Europa is based here while it is the focus airport of Air Berlin – the German airline.

To handle increasing passengers, two terminals were added to Palma de Mallorca. They term this as “Modules” and the airport has four modules: A, B, C and D. Out of these, the smallest is Module B and is located the north east. Module B has 8 gates, it is without any air bridges and used by the carrier Air Nostrum. The airport has increased capacity to serve 25 million travellers annually and that makes dispatching 12,000 travellers hourly.

The airport does not have any train station, but the central train station in Palma connects to various destinations. Two reliable, comfortable and frequent bus services take the passengers to various destinations. The bus trip takes 15 minutes. Buses have lines and routs for some areas. Municipality of Palma de Mallorca operates Line 1 and Route 21 as an economical option. The bus terminal is close to car parking on the ground level at arrivals areas. Bus Line 1 operates everyday with 15 minutes interval in winters and every 12 minutes in summers. There is Route 21 running daily on 30 minutes interval connects to many hotels but takes somewhat longer time and it runs throughout the year.

To make traveling convenient, airport has several ATMs located on the ground as well as 4th floors of the airport terminal. Banking services are also available at the Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI).
